Dr Rachel Rubin is a urologic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of sexual dysfunction in both men and women. Her expertise includes erectile dysfunction, pelvic pain, penile curvature, low testosterone, low libido, sexual arousal disorders, urinary incontinence, penile implants, and menopause care. Dr Rubin prioritizes taking the time to understand her patient's individual and unique situation and to develop a highly-personalized, evidence-based treatment plan based on each patient's goals. Using a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to addressing the complex physical and emotional symptoms her patients, and their partners may experience, Dr Rubin may recommend medical or surgical treatment options, as well as specialized physical therapy or sexual therapy for individuals and couples. She also passionately believes in the importance of educating patients about the underlying causes of their symptoms and ensuring they understand their individual care plans.

Dr Rubin has participated in several clinical research trials and has also presented at national and international conferences, including the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH), and the American Urological Association (AUA). Her research focuses on the advancement of evidence-based treatments for sexual pain disorders, low libido, penile curvature, and erectile dysfunction.

Dr Rubin completed a fellowship in male and female sexual dysfunction and prosthetic urology in San Diego under the guidance of Irwin Goldstein, MD, Director of Sexual Medicine at Alvarado Hospital Medical Center and founding editor of the Journal of Sexual Medicine, and Eugene Rhee, MD, MBA, Chief of Urology at Kaiser Permanente Southern California. She completed an internship in general surgery and residency in urology at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr Rubin holds a medical degree and bachelor's degree, graduating summa cum laude, from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr Rubin grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and, currently, lives in Washington with her husband and daughter.
